The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation [DCR] issued an advisory on Tuesday, August 4, on the closure of several state-run state parks, waterfronts, pools and campgrounds in response to Tropical Storm Isaias.

At 3 PM DCR will implement a closure of agency managed state parks in Western and Central Massachusetts and all agency managed waterfronts and pools statewide.

Boat ramps at Quabbin Reservoir have been closed at Noon.

State parks, waterfronts and pools will re-open on Wednesday, August 5, for regular visitor hours pending potential impacts of the storm on the state park system.

Campgrounds

Visitors with camping reservations have received notice by email and phone of the high winds and heavy rains expected to be caused by the storm.

DCR will not ask campers to leave campgrounds but urges visitors to monitor weather reports and take precautions as needed.
