DUDLEY – Three Southbridge residents were arraigned on Thursday in Dudley District Court on multiple drug charges including distribution of cocaine and heroin.

According to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early’s office, the charges were the result of a month-long investigation by Massachusetts State Police Detectives and Southbridge Police.

Edwin Estrada, 24, of 2 Cross St., Apt. 2-1, Southbridge pleaded not guilty to charges of distribution of a class A substance (heroin), possession of a class B substance (cocaine), and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Crisleonel Cuzado-Plaza, 20, of the same address, pleaded not guilty to charges of possession with intent to distribute a class B substance (cocaine), possession with intent to distribute a class A substance (heroin), and conspiracy to violate the drug laws.

Janet Colon Cintron, 44, of the same address, pleaded not guilty to charges of possession with intent to distribute a class A substance (heroin), and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Bail was set at $1,000 for Estrada, $470 for Cusado-Plaza and $250 for Cintron and continued all three cases to April 18.

The joint investigation culminated yesterday with the arrest of Estrada after an alleged sale of heroin on the street. His co-defendants were arrested at 2 Cross St. after a search warrant was executed at that address. About 10 grams of a white rock substance consistent with crack cocaine, and 15 wax baggie bundles of a tan powder consistent with heroin were seized along with cash, a digital scale, packaging material and rubber bands.

A search warrant executed on a vehicle belonging to Cuzado-Plaza also produced 16 knotted baggies containing a white rock substance consistent with crack cocaine and 10 wax bags containing a substance consistent with heroin.

The Narcotics Division of the State Police Detective Unite assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, State Police K-9 Unit, Southbridge Police Detective Unit, Southbridge K-9 and Charlton Police all participated in the investigation.
