WORCESTER – More than a half an inch of rain is expected to fall on Sunday across Massachusetts and the storms could include large hail and strong wind gusts, according to the National Weather Service [NWS].

The NWS has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook alert for all of Massachusetts east of Berkshire County.

Large hail, according to the NWS, is the “primary threat” Sunday afternoon and with strong wind gusts as a “secondary concern.”

Heavy rainfall could result in localized street flooding.

The storms are expected to hit the Worcester area in the late morning and early afternoon.
