Today’s Weather in Worcester – Friday, January 31

By TWIW Staff | January 31, 2020
Last Updated: February 3, 2021

WORCESTER- Sunny to partly sunny skies are expected during the morning on Friday with more clouds than sunshine expected during Friday afternoon. High temperatures Friday will be near 40 degrees.

Friday night is expected to be cloudy with low temperatures between 25 and 30 degrees.

Saturday: An area of low pressure is likely to pass well offshore of the New England coastline on Saturday. The offshore track of this storm means that it will have very little effect on our weather.

So, cloudy skies are expected on Saturday and there may be some scattered snow and rain shower activity around. High temperatures Saturday will be near 40 degrees.

Sunday: An area of high pressure will build into the area on Sunday. This means that skies will be partly sunny throughout Sunday. High temperatures Sunday will be near 40 degrees.

Next Week’s Weather: Quiet weather continues for early next week with sunshine expected on Monday with high temperatures between 45 and 49 degrees.

Even milder temperatures are expected on Tuesday with near 50 degree high temperatures possible with a few rain showers possible.

A frontal boundary will push through the area on Wednesday. This front will bring with it scattered rain shower activity to Central Mass during the day on Wednesday.

Beyond this, it is possible that this frontal system may stall out just to our south. At the same time this is occurring, waves of low pressure may ride along this front from Wednesday night through next Friday. Since we will be on the colder side of the front, it is possible that we could see a couple of rounds of snow – first on Wednesday night into Thursday morning and then again on Thursday night through next Friday morning. Right now, it is way too soon to start discussing snowfall accumulation potential – but both storm systems will need to be watched closely.
