Today’s Weather in Worcester – Sunday January 19

By TWIW Staff | January 19, 2020
Last Updated: February 2, 2021

This upcoming week looks decent in terms of weather with no storms expected.

We will likely see some partial sunshine by this afternoon once the areas of low clouds and fog lift. High temperatures this afternoon will be between 40 and 45 Degrees.

Sunny days and clear nights are expected for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. High temperatures Monday and Tuesday will be in the mid to upper 20s. Low temperatures tonight will be near 15 Degrees. Low temperatures Monday night and Tuesday night will be between 10 and 15 Degrees.

Plenty of sunshine is also expected on Thursday and Friday and it will be milder. High temperatures Thursday will be between 40 and 45 Degrees. High temperatures Friday will be near 45 Degrees.

Turning To Next Weekend – There are signals in the long range weather data that suggest we need to watch out for a possible coastal storm system for Saturday and Saturday night. The exact track of this storm system is uncertain right now and this is not surprising for a 6 day forecast.

As for possible precipitation type, this is also uncertain given that it is a 6 day forecast. With that said, there is likely to be a lack of any really cold air across much of the country. This would favor either a messy mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain on Saturday and Saturday night or a situation where it starts as snow, sleet and freezing rain on Saturday, but changes to rain on Saturday night. The reason why I think this is because there is expected to be a blocking high pressure system over eastern Canada and this high pressure system may provide just enough cold air to produce snow and ice, at least to start with.

There’s not much more to say about this right now, except that we will have to keep a close eye on this storm and see if things trend more wintry or if they trend more rainy.
