WORCESTER – A Worcester Federal Judge sentenced a local man on Tuesday, Aug. 27, for drug crimes.
U.S. District Court Judge Margaret R. Guzman sentenced Hector Torres, 33, of Worcester, to seven years in federal prison and five years of supervised release.
Torres pleaded guilty in May 2025 to one count each of:
- Conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine; and
- Possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine
According to federal prosecutors, in June 2022, law enforcement intercepted a package sent from Puerto Rico to Worcester, which contained 6.5 kilograms of cocaine.
On June 21, 2022, law enforcement conducted a controlled delivery of the pack to Torres, who signed for the delivery. When law enforcement moved to arrest Torres, he fled on foot, but was later captured.
