WORCESTER – Officers with the Worcester Police Department responded to a traffic crash between a U-Haul van and a parked car around 7:40 PM on Wednesday, March 24.
The U-Haul driver then hit a fire hydrant when backing up.
Officers found the driver, Angelo Carnute, 19, of Pittsfield, with a clear bag filled with oxycodone in a clear bad. He also had a large amount of cash in his possession.
Police removed Carnute from the vehicle and saw a loaded firearm underneath him.
Paramedics on the scene found another man, Jordan Scanlon, 27, of Pittsfield, in the bask of the van. Officers found more oxycodone polls in the area. They also secured a loaded firearm in his possession.
Carnute faces charges of:
- Possession of Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute
- Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
- Use of a Firearm in a Felony
Scanlon faces charges of:
- Possession of Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute
- Carrying a Firearm under the Influence of Liquor/drugs
- Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
- Carrying a Firearm without a License
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
- Use of a Firearm in a Felony.
