WATCH: Trailer Released for Christmas Movie Filmed in Worcester

WORCESTER – The Christmas movie filmed in Worcester earlier this year will debut this Friday, October 23.

Christmas on Ice will kickoff Lifetime’s “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime” — a seasonal roll out of new holiday movies and old favorites from mid-October through December.

The movie will premiere at 8 PM.

Filming took place in Worcester in mid-February 2020 at the Worcester Common Oval, City Hall, the Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center and several other locations.

The film’s trailer features the Worcester Common Oval skating rink and City Hall.

Christmas on Ice is written and directed by John Stimpson and stars Abigail Klein, Ryan Cooper, Caroline Portu, Will Lyman, and Meara Mahoney Gross.

The film synopsis reads:  Courtney Bennett (Abigail Klein), a former US figure skating hopeful, runs her city’s public skating rink—until the Mayor (Will Lyman) announces it’s closing, that is. Heartbroken but determined to do something, Courtney enlists the help of a professional hockey player (Ryan Cooper), and it’s not long before sparks fly.
