WORCESTER – The Priests will be coming to the Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts on Friday, November 16 at 7:30 p.m. Assumption College is sponsoring the event.
The group are a trio of vocalists and priests from Northern Ireland. Their debut album is a combination of spiritual music and songs rooted in Irish culture.
“Music is a language all of its own,” said Martin O’Hagan, one of the members of The Priests, “It can speak where words cannot. When we perform live we have a wonderful opportunity to engage with the audience. We find it very uplifting and reassuring. But I always keep in my mind that there will be people in the audience who need a good night out. It’s not a vigil. There is humor and banter, and we sing secular pieces as well. The audience goes home with a spring in their step, and so do we.”
The Priests debut album has sold more than one million copies in just Ireland.
