Two Men Arrested For Saturday Murder in Worcester

WORCESTER – A Southbridge man, Juan Guitierrez, 24, and Kenneth Vazquez, 21, Worcester, were arrested on Tuesday for a Saturday murder on Country Club Boulevard. 

On Saturday evening Worcester Police were called to 64 Country Club Boulevard to find Juan Mendez, 37, Worcester, with a gunshot wound. After being rushed to a local hospital, he was later pronounced dead. 

Gutierrez was located on Millbury Street Tuesday morning and was apprehended on Endicott Street after fleeing. He was apprehended with what police believe to be cocaine and heroin in his possession. He was charged with Murder, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Class A with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Class B with Intent to Distribute and an Outstanding Warrant.

Vazquez was also located Tuesday on Lake Ave in Worcester. He has been charged with Murder, Resisting Arrest, Carrying a Firearm without a License, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, and Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card.

Both men will be arraigned in Worcester District Court.
