UPDATE: Up to 2 Inches of Rain to Fall Overnight in Worcester

WORCESTER – Up to two inches of rain is expected to fall overnight tonight in the Worcester area, according to the National Weather Service [NWS].

The NWS has issued an update to their previous Hazardous Weather Outlook for Worcester County: “Bands of heavy rain with possibly embedded thunder may result in isolated rainfall amounts of up to 2 inches this evening and overnight. This may be sufficient for minor poor drainage flooding especially in urban areas.”

On Saturday, scattered showers will continue early in the morning until 8 AM. The remainder of the day on Saturday will likely be cloudy, but the rain is expected to resume on Sunday after 1 PM.
