WORCESTER – In just 24 hours, the National Weather Service [NWS] has changed their initial forecast for the Worcester area. On Wednesday, NWS expected one to two inches of snow to fall in Worcester. On Thursday, NWS announced that Worcester could see up to seven inches overnight into Friday.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 4 PM today until 7 AM on Friday. Snow accumulations will be between four to seven inches along with one-tenth of an inch of ice.

Snow will fall one to two inches per hour this evening before changing over to ice and then rain on Friday morning.

NWS warns motor vehicle operators that travel will be difficult — maybe even impossible — this evening.
