There’s still more than a week to get the love of your life something sweet for Valentine’s Day.
The team at Zippia.com used Google Trends to determine what Valentine’s Day candy each state searched for the most over the first two weeks of February each year, defined by Zippia as “prime Valentine Day candy stocking time.”
According to their latest study, the most popular Valentine’s Day candy in Massachusetts are chocolate roses.
Their report — Each State’s Favorite Valentine’s Candy — shows that 45 out of 50 states prefer chocolate and the most popular Valentine’s Day candy is chocolate covered strawberries.
In second place is the Bay State’s favorite chocolate roses, tied with M&Ms.
Here are some other interesting facts from the study:
- Dove chocolates are preferred to Lindor
- Only four states prefer conversation hearts
- People in California actually like candy necklaces
