Man Arrested for B&E, Vandalism of Two Jewish Institutions

WORCESTER – Worcester Police arrested Kyle Wood, 28, of Cherry Valley, on charges of breaking into the Temple Emmanuel Sinai Synagogue at 661 Salisbury St. and vandalism at the JCC at 633 Salisbury St.

JCC is a community center, open to all, funded through grants from the Jewish Federation of Central Massachusetts.

On Wednesday, August 5, around 12:30 PM, Worcester Police responded to a report of a break-in at Temple Emmanuel that resulted in a broken window and damage to the temple.

On August 6, around 9 AM, Worcester Police responded to a report of a man screaming at parents and children at the JCC camp drop-off line.

The man was reportedly kicking the Star of David and had pulled a lawn sign out of the grass and threw it.

The man had left the scene by the time officers arrived.

Shortly after the incident at JCC, Worcester Police received another report of a break-in at Temple Emmanuel.

Police stopped Wood in his vehicle on Salisbury St. After a brief investigation, he was arrested.

Wood faces charges of Breaking and Entering in the Daytime and Vandalism.

According to Worcester Police, the investigation is ongoing, and further charges are possible.
