Wanted Man Arrested in Worcester After Foot Chase

WORCESTER – A Worcester Police officer making a traffic stop during the early morning on Saturday, Augusst 29, near King St., led to a crash on Chandler St., a foot chase and Eleuterio Draughn facing charges on an outstanding warrant, cocaine possession and several other charges.

Draughn was driving an Infinity sedan erratically around 3 AM, including through several stop signs, according to the officer. When the officer initiated the traffic stop, Draughn increased his speed, trying to flee.

Draughn crashed the Infinity into a sign and fence on Chandler St. soon thereafter.

As the officer approached the vehicle, Draughn fled on foot toward Chandler St. The officer eventually lost sight of him.

After other officers arrived to assist in the search, Draughn was apprehended on Austin St.

Upon identifying Draughn police learned that he had outstanding warrants for several crimes including Armed Assault to Murder and Use of a Firearm in Felony.

During the officer’s search of Draughn, a substance believed to be cocaine was found in his pocket.

Along with the warrant, Draughn faces a host of new charges:

  • Possession of a Class B Substance
  • Operating to Endanger
  • Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Property Damage
  • Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License
  • Failure to Stop
  • Speeding
  • Four stop sign violations
