WORCESTER – The Leary Firefighters Foundation has released the fifth and final episode of its series titled “Worcester 6 Remembered” today.
The series is in remembrance of the fire now 20 years ago, December 3, 1999, where six Worcester firefighters tragically lost their lives.
This final episode is titled “20 Years Later” and looks at how the ultimate sacrifice made by these brave individuals has led to new systems, protocols, and awareness.
The Leary Foundation was founded in Spring of 2000 to fund improved training and equipment for the Worcester Fire Department.

The first episode was released on the Dec. 3 anniversary of the fire. The second episode was released the following Sunday. Dec. 8. The third and fourth episodes debuted on the subsequent Sundays.
The documentary explores the lives of the six firefighters — Lieutenant Thomas Spencer, Firefighter Paul Brotherton, Firefighter Timothy Jackson, Firefighter Jeremiah Lucey II, Lieutenant James Lyons and Firefighter Joseph McGuirk — through interviews with relatives and other firefighters that were on the job 20 years ago.
