Two brothers from Connecticut evaded Massachusetts State Police for around 40 miles on Tuesday, April 13, before surrendering to the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing.

The pursuit began on the eastbound side of Rt. 84 in Sturbridge when a Trooper noticed a black Acura with no front license plate. The Trooper attempted to engage the vehicle for a traffic stop, but the Acura made an erratic lane change when approaching Exit 3 and exited the highway.

The Trooper followed the vehicle as it made an illegal U-turn and re-entered Rt. 84 headed eastbound.

During the pursuit, the Trooper saw the two individuals in the front seat switch positions.

A superior eventually ordered the pursuit ended with a follow-up investigation to identify the individuals in the vehicle.

Around the same time, the State Police Air Wing, unit Air 5, advised it had established visual identification of the vehicle.

The pursuit ended on Chapin St. in Ludlow when the vehicle came to a stop. The three occupants exited the vehicle and surrendered to the Air Wing.

Multiple cruisers soon arrived on the scene and took the men into custody.

Police released the third man without charges.
