WEST BOYLSTON —It took some patience, coordination and the willingness to wreck some fencing, but police were able to escort an apparently-lost Moose to safety on Saturday in West Boylston.
Shortly before 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, West Boylston police responded to a report of a moose who was stuck between I-190 near the Laurel Street bridge and Legg Road. Calling upon the assistance of Holden police and the Environmental Police, officers agreed they didn’t want the moose to cross I-190, so they cut some fencing to allow the wayward animal to cross Legg Road.
Legg Road was closed for a short period of time to allow for the moose to discover the opening and head safely back into the woods.
