Partly sunny skies are expected for Friday Afternoon with high temperatures near 45 Degrees.
Friday Night will be cloudy with areas of fog. In addition, there is the possibility for some localized areas of freezing drizzle over the higher terrain of the Worcester Hills. Low temperatures tonight will be between 24 and 29 Degrees.
Saturday & Saturday Night: An area of low pressure is expected to take shape along the New Jersey coast on Saturday afternoon and move northward across Southern New England during Saturday evening. By late Saturday night, this low pressure system is expected to track into Maine. This storm system is expected to bring rain, heavy at times, to Central Mass Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening.
During Saturday Morning, skies are expected to be cloudy and with a lot of low-level moisture around, there will be areas of fog. In addition, some areas of drizzle and pockets of freezing drizzle is possible across the higher terrain of the Worcester Hills.
Scattered rain showers early Saturday afternoon will become a steady rain by mid-afternoon Saturday. A period of heavy rain with the possibility of a rumble or two of thunder is then expected across Central Mass from 5 pm Saturday afternoon until about 11 pm Saturday evening. Rainfall amounts of one inch (1.00”) to one and one half inches (1.50”) in just this 6 hour time frame will likely lead to urban, highway and poor drainage flooding.
In addition, the ground temperatures will likely still be below freezing for a while Saturday afternoon. This means that even though the air temperature will be well above freezing, the rain could still freeze on contact with the ground in some spots. So, icy conditions are possible in some areas Saturday afternoon.
The rain is expected to come to an end a little after midnight Saturday night.
High temperatures Saturday will be between 40 and 45 Degrees. Low temperatures Saturday night will be between 35 and 40 Degrees.

The Next Chance For A Storm will be sometime between next Saturday and next Sunday as an area of low pressure may make its way up the East Coast of the United States. At this point, it’s way too soon to tell whether this will be snow, rain or something in-between. Just know that it’s something that I’m keeping a close eye on and will have updates for you this weekend and throughout next week.
