WEBSTER – Detectives with the Webster Police Department are actively investigating a kidnapping they were told occurred on Friday, May 31 around 3:30 PM at May Street Park.

According to the Webster PD, a 12-year-old female and her parents walked into the Webster Police station at 4:45 PM on the same day — less than two hours after the kidnapping reportedly occurred.

The family told police the young girl was taken to another town where she may have been sexually assaulted. It is believed that the assault may have taken place in over the state line in Connecticut.

The description given of the vehicle was a small black sedan with two doors. The male was described as being white. It is a possibility that he is 5’10 and “scruffy.”

Due to the limited information available, no other information is being released at this time. Police did not provide information on how the girl returned to her parents.

Webster Police will conduct more patrol checks at the town parks.

Webster Police will be working with the Connecticut State Police, as well as the District Attorney’s Office throughout the coming days in a joint effort to conduct this investigation.
