FITCHBURG – A 40-year-old Webster woman died in a rollover crash on Thursday on Rt. 2 in Fitchburg.
According to the Massachusetts State Police [MSP], around 11 AM, the victim was traveling in a 2006 Subaru Impreza on Rt. 2 Eastbound between exits 27 and 28 in Fitchburg.
For reasons still under investigation, the woman lost control of the vehicle and crashed it into a road sign. She was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
The State Police continue investigating the cause of the crash with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
State Police were assisted on scene by Fitchburg and Westminster Fire and EMS and MassDOT.
