This weekend is a holiday weekend in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 18. Spend the next three days relaxing and replenishing your energy, so you can stay committed to your goals.

Celebrate the long weekend and get inspired by ThisWeekinWorcester.com’s list of 5 awesome opportunities this weekend! Get physical this weekend with sports or become a virtual audience for an event you won’t want to miss.

Tower Hill is bundling up in a creative and colorful way!

Visit Tower Hill Botanic Garden this Saturday between 10 AM and 1 PM to see a winter experience that is bursting with color. The popular trend of “yarnbombing” is coming to the Botanic Garden in their Yarnstorm event. This collaborative community exhibit decorates trees, benches, and more with crocheted art! Adult tickets are $16 and youth is $6.

Make time for mindfulness this weekend!

Set aside an hour of your morning this Sunday to breathe, relax, and reset your stamina with Sunday yoga! From 9 AM to 10 AM, Mandi Garrison Yoga will be hosting a Sunday Stretch and Restore Yoga session. The event is free for all Patreon members and only $5 for non-members.

The Grafton Lions Club invites your children to get adventurous this Saturday!

Kids ages 6 to 14 are welcome to get some fresh air and join the Grafton Lions Club at 68 Brigham Hill Road for an outdoor adventure. Satisfy their sporty side with fin and feather sports!

From 9 AM to 12 PM, kids and teens can enjoy ice fishing (weather permitting), archery, and a nature hike with animal tracking. Pre-registration is required for the event.

Brighten up your Sunday with art!

Log into Facebook for a fun – and free!- event that will light up your afternoon! JesseRobertson.com will be hosting a painting tutorial of a colorful street illuminated by streetlights. The class is prerecorded and posted here, so you can pause or rewind as many times as you want. Recommended materials are listed here.

Enjoy high fashion while wearing your pajamas!

This Sunday from 11 AM to 12 PM, become a virtual audience to The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s new exhibit. Join curator Andrew Bolton and exhibition designer Es Devlin for a discussion about the inspiration behind the exhibition, About Time: Fashion and Duration. The event is free and you can access it on Facebook, YouTube, and their website.
