The snow is melting, the birds are singing, and the weather is getting warmer — for now.

February is nearly over and winter is coming to an end. How will you spend the last weekend of the month and the last weeks of the winter season?

Send off the season with ThisWeekinWorcester’s list of local and virtual fun! Wave goodbye to winter and the cold weather with hot events you will not want to miss. Treat yourself to a night out or stay comfortable at home as you join in on safe and exciting entertainment.

Calling all night owls!

You are invited to get out late for a moonlit walk in the woods with the chance of hearing actual night owls!

This Saturday from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, join Mass Audubon Wachusett Meadow to explore the sanctuary after dark. Make sure to reserve your spot. Tickets for members are $6 and tickets for nonmembers are $10. Remember to bring a flashlight and snowshoes.

Attend a safe dance party in your coziest clothes!

Get dressed down this Saturday for The NYC Social Group’s virtual pajama dance party!

This bash is 80’s and 90’s themed to dance away all the troubles from 2020. Tickets are $12.95 with tax, and they include a live DJ, 80’s and 90’s themed trivia, and prizes for the best dancers.

Immerse yourself in history!

Join tour guide Patrick Hilyer to take a virtual guided tour of the historic D-Day sites in France. Tune into Zoom from 12 PM to 1:15 PM to view exclusive video content, archive photographs, and military maps from D-Day.

Stick around for an interactive Q & A with Patrick Hilyer. You must register for the event in advance. The tour is free, but donations are appreciated.

Have a cup of tea with a historical figure of the past!

This Saturday virtually travel through time to Mount Vernon to meet the first, first lady, Martha Washington!

From 1 PM to 2 PM, relive a fascinating part of history as a Martha Washington reenactor joins you for teatime. She will be discussing her life with George as he served as a Revolutionary War hero and the president. Each ticket is $35.

Making plans this Saturday can be as easy as saying, Abra Kadabra!

Make your weekend magical by tuning into Magician Kevin Shelly’s live magic show via Zoom.

The show begins at 7 PM. For $17, treat your whole family to a dazzling performance.
