The holiday season is here, Worcester! Make your weekend merry and bright with this list of events for wonderful opportunities on Saturday and Sunday. Start the celebrations or take some time to relax as you prepare for them this weekend!

ThisWeekinWorcester.com has your list of jolly activities that will help you to feel festive all weekend.

Stroll downtown to spot beautiful light displays, donate a toy to a good cause, or take out your paint brushes for a whimsical paint night.

Brighten up your weekend and your holidays!

From now until until February 28, 2021, Worcester is lighting up the city.

Walk or drive through Main South or Downtown Worcester to see the city’s Festival of Lights 2020. This event has been organized in partnership with Creative Hub Worcester, MainIDEA, Main South Community Development Corporation, Technocopia, and Tower Hill Botanic Garden. Light sculptures created by local artists as well as other light displays will be featured in participating businesses!

Celebrate a very special birthday this Saturday!

You are invited to a virtual birthday bash held by the EcoTarium! This Saturday at 11 AM, the EcoTarium and its virtual guests will be saying happy birthday to the EcoTarium’s two mountain lions in their Mountain Lion Birthday Celebration. The mountain lions, Salton and Freyja, will be turning two, and you can see their party on Facebook, Instagram, or on the EcoTarium website.

If you subscribe for their e-newsletter, you will receive a free downloadable coloring sheet to make your own birthday card for Salton and Frejya.

Have fun while giving back to the community!

This Saturday from 11 AM to 1 PM, Fidelity Bank will be presenting their Drive-Thru Teddy Bear Toss and Toy Drive.

Drive down to the Worcester Ice Center at 112 Harding Street for a fun and meaningful event. To donate your stuffed animals or teddy bears this year, you are invited to toss it into a giant inflatable goal. If you hit a special target, then you will have a chance to win a prize! If you do not bring a teddy bear, you can buy a Railers plushie for $10 and still participate.

If you are not able to attend, you can either drop off a gift at the Rail Shop or Bay State Brewing Company now through December 18 or you can participate virtually by purchasing a Railer’s stuffed animal for $10 that will be included in the event.

Ring in the holidays with a paint night!

This Saturday between 3 PM and 10 PM, pick up your paint brushes for Mimosas and Masterpieces’ “The Nightmare Before Christmas’ Jack and Sally” Paint Day.

You can join this event virtually through their Facebook Live Stream. Visit Mimosas and Masterpieces website for a downloadable sketch of the characters, Jack and Sally, as a guide.

The paint night is free, but you can purchase paint kits to prepare for the event. Mimosas and Masterpieces encourages you to take a picture of your paintings and post them in the thread on the post that they will create right before the event goes live.

Feel refreshed this Sunday!
