Pumpkin spice, apple picking, and leaf peeping are back in season! That’s right! The first days of autumn are here. How will you spend the first weekend of fall?

ThisWeekinWorcester.com has your list of five events taking place this weekend that will make you “fall” for fall. Go out into the city or bundle yourself in blankets and stay home. Get up and moving this weekend with fitness classes or stay home and celebrate a national day virtually!

Get Your Sticks Out

Get your children geared up for their favorite sport!

Street hockey is returning to Beaver Brook Park in Worcester! The Worcester Renegades Youth Street Hockey will be holding instructional street hockey practices and drills this Saturday at 1 PM. They will be held free of charge and they are geared for children 4 to 17 years old. Required equipment includes a helmet with a face guard, gloves, shin pads, sneakers, and a mask!

Get Fit with the YWCA

Lace up your sneakers for an active Saturday!

Come to Oread Park in Worcester this Saturday at 11:30 AM for YWCA Central Massachusetts and Main South CDC’s Walkfit event. Join them on their free outdoor fitness program! Walkfit will get you moving by walking in place and performing strength routines. Bottled water will be provided. Covid-19 safety procedures must be followed, so masks should be worn upon arrival and mats will be spaced 14 feet apart.

Disney Trivia at Home

Are you looking for free family fun this weekend? You can find it on any electronic device!

Tune into Trivia AD and Fairytale Journeys by Kara’s Disney Pop Culture Trivia this Saturday at 8:30 PM. This Disney pop trivia is solely for fun and scoring will be based on an honor system. Test your knowledge on their livestream about Disney movies, theme park attractions, and more.

Watch the Moon With The World

Celebrate an obscure international WHAT!

Happy International Observe the Moon Night, Worcester. There is only one thing to do this Saturday and that is to admire the moon. Join Astronomy Muncton for their free live streaming event to commemorate the night all about the moon. They will be hosting their own Facebook livestream following a slideshow about the moon and love views of the moon from their telescope!

Celebrate Frederick Douglass

Honor history this Saturday!

This Saturday is Frederick Douglass Day! This virtual celebration will be hosted by Frederick Douglass and Talbot Count Free Library for their virtual celebration of the life and legacy of Frederick Douglass. The calendar is full of activities from 10 AM to 6:30 PM. You can look forward to intellectual speakers, an unveiling ceremony for a Frederick Douglass portrait, and much more!
