Worcester welcomed its first major snowstorm along with the first weekend of December!

What better way to celebrate the new month than scrumptious desserts, stunning shows, and festive fun to prepare for the holidays?

Worcester is decking the halls this December with Wicked Winter Weekend, a weekend worth of holiday fun!

To kick off the festivities, the Worcester Common Oval is holding the Festival of Lights on Friday at 4:30 PM.

The Festival of Lights will be merry and bright with the annual holiday tree lighting, live music and performances from iHeartRadio and Worcester Public Schools Choral Groups, ice skating, and much more!

This year, the Festival of Lights continues on Saturday from 1 PM to 7 PM with more live performances, ice skating, and a local vendor market.

Wicked Winter Weekend wraps up on Sunday with even more treats for the family.

From 9 AM to 5 PM, get your holiday shopping done at stART on the Street at Union Station. With a $10 donation, you can get a headstart on your shopping with less crowds from 9 AM to 11 AM.

After 11 AM, all admission is free, but donations are welcomed all day. This event features 100 artists and crafters in the grand hall, and 35 more local creators in the Concourse. Parking will be available at the Union Station garage for only $1, so support local businesses and complete your holiday shopping at Union Station.

The EcoTarium wants to know if you’re feeling wild about winter!

From December 7 to December 15, the EcoTarium is hosting their Wild about Winter event. Come and enjoy winter science and crafts, indoor sock skating, and a celebration of the first birthday for their mountain lions.

The Queen’s Cups is celebrating the heroes of the city!

Join the Queen’s Cups and Jenny Lee Photography on December 8 from 11 AM to 2 PM for their Santa’s Superheroes event dedicated to the everyday heroes in our lives.

For their Santa Superheroes event, the Queen’s Cups and Jenny Lee Photography will be holding a photoshoot for children to meet and pose with local police officers, firefighters, and EMTs.

They are asking for a $10 donation for three photos with the workers, and all the proceeds will be donated to Chris Pace, the injured firefighter who was saved by Lt. Menard.
