We are a start-up in the best sense of the word: there’s more than a 50-year gap between the youngest and oldest contributor, the majority of us were born and raised right here in Worcester and in the surrounding towns of Worcester County, and we all desperately want to see this news outlet be your trusted source of local news, sports and entertainment.

Last night, we celebrated with our early supporters, our family and friends, and our fellow TWIW contributors. If you’re wondering why we are welcoming you to the site on the second day of publication, it’s because we wanted to thank them for their support and welcome them to the site personally.

We know our site may not look like much today, but each day every section of ThisWeekinWorcester.com will be filled with more and more content to inform you and entertain you.

Be on the lookout for local high school sports coverage, an obituaries section, movie and restaurant reviews, advice columns, and much, much more. If you would like a good laugh, please visit The Worcester Lampoon section on this site for a twist of satire on what’s happening in Worcester.

Over the course of the next six months, our plan is to work within the parameters of the current website while spending more time developing and programming a brand new, user-friendly, customized ThisWeekinWorcester.com website and app to launch in the Spring.

We hope that you enjoy reading our coverage of everything happening in Worcester. And, most importantly, we hope that you will visit again tomorrow for more of our original content.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to being your go-to news source!
