WORCESTER – The West Nile Virus has been detected in mosquitoes collected in Worcester for the first time this year.
The City of Worcester’s Division of Public Health and the Department of Inspectional Services are coordinating with the Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project to spray the designated area where the positive WNV insect was found.
The spraying will occur in neighborhoods between Burncoat Street and West Boylston Street after sunset until midnight on Friday, Aug. 12. See the map for spraying below.
