WORCESTER – Before the Worcester Railers hit the ice to take on the Adirondack Thunder on Saturday, Dec. 16 at the DCU Center, the Worcester Fire Department hockey team will play the MacBoston hockey team in a pre-game tilt to raise money for the Worcester 6K Fund and the Last Call Foundation in the upcoming annual Heroes Cup.

The game between the two firefighter squads will be played at 4 PM and will be followed by the Railers-Thunder game at 7 PM. Tickets for the two-game event – appropriately dubbed Worcester Firefighters Night – are $16 and $2 from each ticket sale will go back to the WFD Local 1009 Firefighters Union.

The WFD hockey team is playing for the Worcester 6K Foundation in the 2018 Heroes Cup — a weekend long tournament of fire, police, military and EMT hockey teams to raise money for charitable organizations of their choice — which will take place next April.

MacBoston 18 Truck is a dues organization working to keep alive the memory of New York State firefighters who died in the Line Of Duty.

The Railers will also be donating $3 for every chuck a puck bag bought at the game.

Tickets must be purchased online by Dec. 13. Tickets can be purchased here.
