44-year-old Woburn Man Dies in Accident on I-190 in Leominster

LEOMINSTER – Late Tuesday night, a 44-year-old Woburn man died in a single car crash on I-190 in Leominster.

According to the Massachusetts State Police [MSP], Steven Murphy, 44, of Woburn, was driving a 2017 Ford Focus at a high rate of speed on I-190 South just before Exit 7.

For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and rolled over into the wood line. 

Murphy — the sole occupant of the vehicle — was determined to be deceased at the scene. 

The break down and right travel lanes were closed approximately four hours.

This crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

State Police were assisted on scene by Leominster Fire and EMS and MassDOT.
