What happens when you outgrow your childhood dance studio but still want to dance? Well, if you’re Amanda Money you open your own dance studio for adults who want to continue their creative journey in the performing arts. Because they love it. Because it’s a fun way to stay fit.  A-GLOW Dance & Fitness is the only studio in Central Massachusetts that feeds the artistic needs of life long dancers, as well as offering a new way of keeping a healthy mind and body. With a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, a BFA in Dance, certification to teach Balance Body Barre, and more than 20 years experience as a dancer and dance teacher, This Week In Worcester had the pleasure of sitting with Amanda and learning more about her unique, creative small business.

Can you share with us a bit about your business and how you got started?

“A-GLOW Dance & Fitness is a dance studio dedicated to adult dancers.  This means anyone 18 years old, right on through 102, is welcome to take our classes.  The studio was born out of necessity, as there was no place for adult dancers to go after graduating from their childhood studio. We specialize in ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop, as well as barre + pilates classes.  We have drop-in classes as well as our popular 6 week workshops.  Our dance workshops are great because they provide an opportunity to build upon dance skills through repetition, which is important for the adult body and mind.  Our motto is “Once a Dancer, Always a Dancer!”

What brought you to Ladies Night Out Worcester and what do you like about it?

“I was originally told about Ladies Night Out Worcester through a friend who will also be participating as a vendor.  After I looked into it more, I knew this event was the perfect way to promote my small business.  I understand returning to dance as an adult or trying something new can be a big step.  A-GLOW is a welcoming community of like-minded individuals, and promoting at an empowering all ladies event seemed like the perfect fit!”
