The 78s are ranked #17 nationally and fourth in their region and are coming off three straight playoff wins – including a stunning buzzer-beater 128-127 win over the Roc City Ravens from Rochester, NY, a dominating performance and first win of the season over the Western Mass Zombies in the regional semi-finals, and last Saturday’s improbable win over the defending regional champion, Binghampton Bulldogs.
The 78s were widely considered the underdog against the #10 nationally ranked Bulldogs, but came out red hot as they hit three pointers on three of their first four possessions of the game on their way to a 134-114 win.
This Saturday the 78s play for the regional championship and the opportunity to compete for the ABA championship at its Final 8 season finale in St. Louis starting March 9.
