The Futures Collegiate Baseball League [FCBL] announced on Wednesday, April 29, it will postpone the start of the 2020 season.

The FCBL is the league the Worcester Bravehearts compete within.

The FCBL had set May 27 for the league to start play.

Futures League Commissioner Joe Paolucci said, “As soon as we have clarity on guidelines and procedures for playing baseball, we will look to adapt and begin.”

In a statement, the Bravehearts said they are working with health professionals and hope to define guidelines to host games safely on or around May 18.

Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker announced on Tuesday, April 28, that the stay-at-home advisory would stay in place, and non-essential businesses closed, until May 18.
