On Thursday, Worcester public schools and city officials, along with community partners from Amor Para Puerto Rico, Centro, and the United Way of Central Massachusetts will announce the city’s plan for the 100 new students in the city’s public schools and the 180 new residents that have moved to the city following Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
The announcement regarding the incoming evacuees will take place at the Rock of Salvation Church, 829 Main Street Worcester at 4 PM.
The discussion will focus on the current population of registered evacuees in the City of Worcester, the policies and procedures for fellow Americans who are coming to Worcester County due to evacuating their homes due to hurricane damage, and how students and residents can register for school, access community services and begin a life in Worcester.
This event is free and open to the public. Parking can be found behind the church off of Benefit Street.
