The U.S. Attorney’s Office for Massachusetts has filed federal charges against Vincent Eovacious, 18, Worcester, for civil disorder and possession of a Molotov cocktail.
Eovacious was arrested today after being released on bond for the state charges he faces.
As ThisWeekInWorcester.com previously reported, a group of people gathered on Monday night and began blocking traffic on Main St. When police responded people within the group began throwing rocks and other object at them.
According to charging documents in the case, during the incident one officer notice a man on the roof of 848 Main St. carrying a satchel. The officer believed he saw a bottle with liquid in it, a rag and a lighter in the man’s possession.
Soon thereafter officers saw the same man walking in the area of Main St. and May St. The man was identified as Eovacious, who was still in possession of the satchel.
Police discovered Molotov cocktails inside the satchel.
Eovacious will appear in federal court in Worcester on Thursday, June 4.
