Worcester Ranked in Top 50 Cities for ‘Hipsters’

If you’re into vintage apparel, farmers markets, thrift stores, record stores and growing beards, you may be considered a hipster, according to a new study from LawnStarter.

Their latest report ranks the 150 largest U.S. cities on American hipster culture based on 23 anti-mainstream factors including bike-friendliness and urban gardening to antique shops and music venues.

Of the 150 cities, Worcester ranks #45 overall, with an average ranking around 50th for the report’s four separate rankings: lifestyle, fashion, culture, and food and drink.

San Francisco, Portland, Ore. and Oakland take the three top spots, with Worcester’s neighbor to the south, Providence, ranked #9 overall. Boston is listed at #18.
