WORCESTER – The City of Worcester has announced its fall leaf collection program will begin Monday, Nov.3.

Leaf pickup will begin in areas of the city that typically have their trash picked up on Wednesdays. The city will then pick up leaves on a  trash pickup schedule and hopes to complete leaf pickup within five weeks.

Here are the scheduled dates for the leaf collection program on trash pick-up days:

  • Wednesday: Nov. 3 to Nov. 7
  • Monday: Nov. 11 to Nov. 15 (Pleasant/ Salisbury)
  • Monday: Nov. 15 to Nov. 22 (Salisbury/ Grove)
  • Monday: Nov. 22 to Nov. 29 (Grove/ Quinapoxet)
  • Tuesday: Nov. 10 to 15
  • Friday: Nov. 15 to 22
  • Thursday: Nov. 22 to Nov. 29

The city stresses that these days are approximate and may change for a variety of factos, including inclimate weather. Signs announcing parking restrictions typically appear one to two days in advance.

Leaf pick-up will not take place on Veterans Day, Tuesday, Nov. 11, or on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27.

The city asks for residents to wait until signs appear in their neighborhood before pushing leaves into the gutter.

Four things not to do, according to the city:

  • DO NOT put leaves in the gutter before signs are posted.
  • DO NOT block catch basins.
  • DO NOT put brush, branches, plastics or other trash and litter in the gutter.
  • DO NOT park where signs are posted (fines may result).

Residents can also take brush, branches, and leaves to a yard disposal site at:
