WORCESTER – The Worcester Public Library celebrates 75 years of Charles M. Schulz’s comic strip “Peanuts” at its main branch, at 3 Salem Square, on Saturday, October 4.
The event, “Happiness is 75 Years of Peanuts,” is free and for all ages, and runs from 11 AM to 2 PM.
The day features a range of activities and Snoopy-inspired joy, including:
- Debut of the Charles M. Schulz Museum Exhibit: “Taking Care of Each Other” – on display through January 4, 2026
- Meet and greet with Snoopy
- Community art project with local artist Jennessa Burks
- 75 Acts of Kindness wall
- Face painting
- Crafts
- Vintage “Peanuts” display
- Limited edition Snoopy library cards
- Giveaways and prize drawings
- Photo ops
- Trivia, character wall, and “Peanuts” timeline
- “The Peanuts Movie” Screening
- A Linus blanket drive for shelter animals
Other features include:
- Display of the Great Pumpkin, weighing 200 pounds
- Linus Blanket Drive for Shelter Pets: Donate new blankets at any WPL location throughout October. All donations will benefit local animal shelters.
- Pen Pal station: Write a friendly note to a member of your community, and make someone’s day, just like Charlie Brown.
- Seventy-five Acts of Kindness wall: Sign your name and pledge to complete an act of kindness in your community.
- Vintage “Peanuts” Display: Check out this impressive display of vintage “Peanuts” memorabilia from a local collector.
