The Worcester Public Library’s Most Read Books of 2020

WORCESTER – The Worcester Public Library loaned more than half a million items last year.

Library staff have compiled a list of the ten most-borrowed books for kids, teens and adults in 2020.

“Even though we had to limit physical access to our collections during the pandemic, the librarians at WPL worked hard to come up with new ways to enrich the lives of Worcester and get people the items they need,” said Jason Homer, WPL Executive Director. “These top titles reflect the diverse experiences we value and celebrate in this community, and include an array of formats, including books, eBooks, audiobooks, and large print.”

Here are Worcester Public Library’s top ten borrowed books for each age range:

Top 10 Kids:

  1. “The Baby-sitters Club” by Raina Telgemeier
  2. “Phoebe and Her Unicorn” by Dana Simpson
  3. “Guts” by Raina Telgemeier
  4. “Dog Man: Brawl of the Wild” by Dav Pilkey
  5. “The Bad Guys” by Aaron Blabey
  6. “Amulet” by Kazu Kibuishi
  7. “Dog Man: Fetch-22” by Dav Pilkey
  8. “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Wrecking Ball” by Jeff Kinney

Top 10 Teens:
