Worcester Man Arrested After Attempting to Sell Firearm

WORCESTER – A report of a man attempting to sell a firearm near Lovell St. on Tuesday, September 1, led to the arrest of Sarmad Mohsin, 18, of Worcester on several firearms charges.

An officer with the Worcester Police Gang Unit received the report around 5:30 PM. Officers attempted to pull Mohsin over in his vehicle near Lawnfair St. and Mann St.

Mohsin failed to stop and, according to police, attempted to throw an item from the window of his vehicle. He stopped the vehicle near King St and Shepard St. and ran.

Mohsin’s arrested took place on Sheppard St. Police located both a firearm and ammunition.

Mohsin does not hold a license to carry firearms.

Mohsin faces charges of Unlawfully Carry of a Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, Resisting Arrest, Failure to Stop for Police, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Operation of a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License.
