Worcester Man Charged for Chasing Neighbors with Knife

WORCESTER - Police dispatched to Oxford St. on Tuesday, June 15, in response to a report of a man chasing local residents with a knife around 8:25 PM.

Officers arrived to several people shouting to tell police the direction the man with the knife travelled.

Police located Joel Perez, 37, of Worcester, behind a nearby residence. Officers located a kitchen knife next to Perez.

According to police, the investigation shows that Perez exited a residence with a knife and began shouting and charging at a group of individuals. The crowd scattered and ran.

Perez faces charges of:

  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Disturbing the Peace
  • Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
