WORCESTER – A 40-year-old Worcester man appeared in federal court in Worcester on Monday and plead not guilty to a child pornography charge.
On Oct. 1, Kenneth Gianatasio, was charged with one count of possession of child pornography.
Gianatasio will remain in federal custody. He is due to appear in federal court on Dec. 16.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Gianastasio allegedly initiated a conversation with an undercover agent on the mobile message app Kik Messenger in early August. Gianastasio allegedly requested to meet the agent for sexual activity with the agent’s fictitious underage daughter.
Gianatasio was subsequently interviewed by law enforcement and admitted that he had used Kik to communicate with parents of underage girls in order to engage in sexual activity with the girls.
Law enforcement found multiple videos of child pornography on Gianatasio’s iPhone.
Gianatasio faces a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000.
