SPENCER – The Spencer Police Department arrested 34-year-old John Leonard on Sunday for break-ins at three local businesses.
Leonard, of 25 Queen St. in Worcester, was charged on three counts each of breaking and entering, larceny, and receiving stolen property.
According to Spencer PD, officers were called to Alpha Cars on Main St. for a report of a Breaking and Entering.
Later, police found out that Tony’s Cleaners and CVS were also broken into overnight Saturday into Sunday.
Officers identified Leonard from a surveillance video. They found him outside of his mother’s house and arrested him.
Upon arrival, officers witnessed Leonard placing a large screen television into a tax. He was attempting to leave town. The television was one identified as being stolen from Alpha Cars.
Other stolen items were found in Leonard’s mother’s home.
Leonard was held in lockup pending arraignment in East Brookfield District Court on Monday morning.
