WORCESTER - Starting this fall, residents and their families can enjoy Worcester's many landmarks right from the comfort of their home.

Beginning today -- Monday, June 14 -- until June 25, fans of the game MONOPOLY can help choose the 34 locations they would like to see featured on the MONOPOLY: Worcester edition game board.

Worcester is the next market for UK-based board game company Top Trumps USA Inc., which has the global license via Hasbro for MONOPOLY.

Top Trumps USA Inc. is asking fans to help choose the 34 locations they would like to see featured on the MONOPOLY: Worcester edition game board by sending an email to [email protected]

The gameboard could feature Worcester-specific locations like Kelley Square, Bancroft Tower, Polar Park and the Burnside Fountain, aka "Turtle Boy."

“We want those who know Worcester best to get involved and send us their recommendations,” Top Trumps USA Inc. Partnerships Manager Afolabi Omotola said. “We want to ensure that the MONOPOLY: Worcester edition game is an accurate portrayal of what locals love about the area. As we work to create a board that truly encompasses what makes Worcester a special place to work, play and live, we hope the communities will share their favorite locations, businesses, charities and town icons they want to see featured on the final game board.”

In November, Worcester lovers will be able to play MONOPOLY in a way that pays tribute to the “Heart of the Commonwealth.” The new MONOPOLY: Worcester edition game will be available online and with local retailers across the region later this year.

MONOPOLY has been around for more than 85 years and has been played by one billion people in 114 countries and more than 47 languages.
