Worcester Police Arrest Suspect for Shooting Death on Russell St.

WORCESTER – The Worcester police have arrested a man in connection with Monday night’s shooting death on Russell St. 

According to the WPD, Devon Rivera, 26 of 488 Sunderland Rd, was arrested on Tuesday and is in custody.

Rivera is charged charged with Murder, Armed Assault with intent to Kill, Assault and Battery by Gun, Possession of a Firearm during a Felony, Unlawfully Carrying a Firearm, Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Armed Robbery, Possession of Ammunition without an FID, Possession of a Firearm during a Felony, and Possession of a Class A Substance.  

As ThisWeekinWorcester.com reported on Tuesday, Worcester Police officers responded to the area of 38 Russell St. late Monday night, for a report of an unresponsive male in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked on the street.

Around 10 PM, officers found a male suffering from several gunshot wounds inside a green Ford Escape.

The male was transported to the hospital.

Shortly after arriving at the hospital, the male was pronounced deceased.
