Worcester Receives $250,000 Grant for Police Body Cameras

The Executive Office of Public Safety and Security [EOPSS] announced on Thursday, November 18, recipients of $20 million in Fiscal Year 2022 Capital Budget funds for police departments across Massachusetts to implement body-worn cameras.

The funding includes $250,000 for the Worcester Police Department.

State Senator Michael Moore (D-Millbury) sponsored the $20 million statewide initiative.

Worcester Police Chief Steven Sargent said, “We are looking forward to implementing this important program and we will soon experience all the benefits that this policing tool will bring to our department and community.”
