Worcester Police Rescue Elderly Woman from Chilmark St. Fire

WORCESTER - Worcester Police responded to a structure fire on Chilmark St. and assisted an elderly female evacuate without serious injury on Saturday, February 27.

Officers arrived at the residence around 1:30 AM and found the home engulfed in flames.

Officers also located two men struggling to assist an elderly woman down a staircase from the second floor.

Two officers entered the building and located the woman in the stairway and carried her to safety.

The woman was not seriously injured. Paramedics provided treatment at the scene.

The Worcester Fire Department soon arrived and took over the scene.
