WORCESTER – According to a new report from the data experts at Wallethub, the city of Worcester is ranked near the top 25 percent of the safest cities in America.

Out of 182 cities ranked by Wallethub, Worcester comes in at #51. The determining factors for Worcester’s high ranking include Worcester having the second smallest percentage of people without health insurance among all cities in America, and its extremely low risk of witnessing a natural disaster.

The report, 2017’s Safest Cities in America, measured the 182 cities using key indicators including the number of assaults per capita, a city’s unemployment rate, and the quality of roads in a city.
