A Bloomberg analysis of the top 100 largest US metropolitan areas listed the Worcester, MA – CT region as the 8th most poised to have a strong recovery from the coronavirus recession.
Boston-Cambridge-Newton, MA-NH ranked 3rd most poised for recovery.
The analysis viewed both regions, which have about 40 colleges and universities, over 20 hospitals and several leading biotech companies as less vulnerable to recession.
With about 20% of Worcester’s population being students, the younger population is also less susceptible to COVID-19.
San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, CA region ranked first in the analysis.
