WORCESTER – The Worcester Together fund announced on Wednesday, March 3, it recently issued $1 million in grants to its six local non-profits.
Worcester Together is a joint effort between the Greater Worcester Community Foundation [GWCF] and the United Way of Central Massachusetts, in partnership with the City of Worcester.
The fund has issued over $10.6 million in funds to Central Massachusetts nonprofits in the last year. Organizations issued grants focused on helping families facing issues such as lost income, unstable housing, food insecurity, and more.
The fund called this round of grants “Reimagining Grants.” According to GWCF President and CEO Barbara Fields, the grants “… were designed to encourage local leaders to step back from the immediate consequences of a social issue and address the root causes.”
The Reimagining Grants are the Fund’s final phase of grant making.
